  • The new Lancia Ypsilon ELLE is the undisputed star of the event. The optimum expression of Lancia's elegance and proof of the brand's continuous search for new, contemporary, innovative shapes, the new special series offers paint colours, materials and fine finishings inspired by the world of fashion
  • The spotlights are also trained on the Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino '14, on show on the stand in the Neve White version with Watermelon detailing and Animalier customisation
  • Completing the showcase, the Ypsilon MOMODESIGN special series, the result of renewed collaboration between two Italian brands renowned the world over for their contribution to the evolution of design

Lancia chooses Paris to present the new and sophisticated Ypsilon Elle, set to go on sale on major European markets in October.  Boosted by the enormous success of the first edition launched in 2010, today the new Elle edition offers paint colours, materials and exclusive finishings consistent with the vehicle's fashion DNA: the optimum expression of Lancia's elegance and proof of the brand's continuous search for new, contemporary, innovative shapes.

Sporting the ELLE logo on the wheel arch and the exclusive Pied De Poule graphics on the pillars of the vehicle, the new special series is available in three body colours (three-coat GLACÉE White, pearlescent GLAM Powder Pink, and the two-tone GLAM Powder Pink / Vulcano Black combination) along with stylish Powder Pink leather and black Alcantara upholstery with electro-welded Elle graphics.

Two models will appear on the Paris catwalk - one with the two-tone GLAM Powder Pink/VULCANO Black livery and the other in pearlescent GLAM Powder Pink - both equipped with 69 HP 1.2 petrol engines. In perfect Lancia style, special attention has been paid to the interiors. They are once again exalted by powder pink leather upholstery combined with fine black Alcantara®, an exquisite material introduced on a large scale in the automotive sector for the first time precisely by the Lancia Brand in 1984 and ever-present on the small and chic Segment B icon since the very first series. Both vehicles come with a wealth of features, including automatic climate control, electric door mirrors, ESC, CD MP3 radio, Blue&Me system with steering wheel controls and leather trim for the steering wheel and gear knob.

The new Elle version is the top-of-the-range model of Lancia Ypsilon, a product family where every special series represents one of the different souls of the model that meet the needs of specific targets. Today the range comprises a total of five versions - the Elefantino '14, Gold and Platinum, as well as the Elle and MOMODESIGN special series - which can be equipped with five engine versions: the 69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II, the 69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II LPG, the 85 HP 0.9 TwinAir in combination with manual or robotised gearbox, the 95 HP 1.3 turbodiesel MultiJet II and the 80 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir Methane.

Designed for a refined, metropolitan clientele that pays attention to style details, two versions of the Fashion City Car will represent the 2014 collection at the French event: a Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino '14 and a Lancia Ypsilon MOMODESIGN. Equipped with a 69 HP 1.2 petrol engine, the first features a Neve White livery and 'Watermelon' detailing, and black seat upholstery with 'Watermelon' stitching and trim. The car's look is further enhanced with an 'Animalier' customisation pack, which features special graphics on side pillar and hub caps. Features include climate control, radio with CD and MP3 player, ESC, Blue&Me with steering wheel controls, fog lights, chrome tail pipe and leather trim for the gear knob and steering wheel.

Also under the spotlight, the Lancia Ypsilon MOMODESIGN, the special series born from renewed collaboration between two Italian brands renowned the world over for their contribution to the evolution of design.  In fact, Lancia and MOMODESIGN have been able to create a highly personal formal language which makes, without hesitation, their creation amongst the many designer products highly recognisable. A unique symbiosis which combines Lancia's refined and elegant style with the technology and sports personality of an iconic Milan brand.

At the stand the public can admire the Ypsilon MOMODESIGN. Equipped with the 95 HP 1.3 MultiJet engine, the model on display features an exclusive two-tone KHAKI Grey/Matt Black body with black interior to accentuate the sports nature of this special series model. Key features include automatic climate control, ESC, CD MP3 Radio, leather steering wheel and gear knob trim, Blue&Me with steering wheel controls, Magic Parking, Cruise Control, electric sunroof, tinted windows, rear headrests, rain sensor and 16" black alloy wheels.

The Paris Motor Show also provides the perfect opportunity to take a close look at the collection of Alcantara jewellery made just for the Ypsilon Elle. Alcantara and the Milan Polytechnic joined forces to create this jewellery designed and created by two young designers who teach the Fashion Design degree course. This once again stands to prove that Lancia is continuously on the look-out for new trends in both the world of contemporary design and communications. An example of this is LanciaTrendVision.com, the international Lancia web magazine which for over four years has been selecting and promoting the experimental works of many creative artists. It is a sort of talent scouting laboratory dedicated to discovering new trends in fashion, design, lifestyle, photograph, art and architecture.

The stand Lancia has set up in Paris is compact in shape and marked by the use of valuable materials. Its eye-catching colours make this display area elegant and give it an exclusive style.

Contrasting with the minimal smooth and shiny reflecting surfaces of chrome-plated steel and glass with black lacquer backing is the "democratic luxury" of white leather with top stitching, which this year is enhanced by the Powder Pink Alcantara inserts of the central column. Lastly, the richness of the finishes and the softness of the shapes accompany the visitor on their tour as they approach, and almost merge, with the exclusivity of the interiors of the new Ypsilon ELLE.

Finally, visitors will be introduced to the products of FGA Capital, a finance company specialising in the automotive sector, by supplying targeted advice and distributing illustrative materials. The company is active in all the major European markets - in France with FC France and FL Auto - with the single goal of supporting the sales of all Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brands by offering innovative financial products with high-added-value services, targeted at the dealership network as well as private customers and companies.

New Lancia Ypsilon "ELLE"

The optimum expression of Lancia elegance, the new Ypsilon "ELLE" takes its inspiration from the world of fashion. Remaining loyal to its position as a fashion city car which continuously reinvents itself, the new version draws once again on the collaboration born in 2010 between Lancia and the ELLE brand, a point of reference for women who want to know about fashion, style and wellbeing, as well as new trends, in advance. From here comes the first edition of the Ypsilon "ELLE", appreciated by women drivers all over Europe.

Boosted by previous success, Lancia is introducing the new Ypsilon "ELLE", which explores the new boundaries of fashion and style in the search for new metropolitan and contemporary forms and trends. This is demonstrated, for example, in the new Glam Powder Pink pearlescent paint and the special burnished multichrome trim, as well as the exclusive combination of leather and Alcantara: classic Lancia elegance. Alcantara® has been used on all four generations of the Ypsilon.

The new special series comes "dressed" in three stunning liveries: pearlescent GLAM Powder Pink, Glaceé White or the elegant two-tone Glam Powder Pink / Vulcano Black option. The same Glam Powder Pink embellishes the 16" alloy wheels (available as optional extras on the Glam Powder Pink and Glam Powder Pink / Vulcano Black versions), while a sophisticated burnished multichrome treatment characterises both the ELLE logo on the car's wheel arches and certain elements of the bodywork: the grille and the door handles, and the 'Ypsilon' signature on the tailgate and the fog light surrounds. All topped off with body-coloured mirror fairings (in gloss black on the two-tone version) and the refined Pied De Poule pattern on the exterior pillars

This strong personality is also found inside, as demonstrated by the specific upholstery of the seats with cushion and backrest in black Alcantara with electro-welded Elle graphics and Powder Pink leather bands with black stitching. The same Powder Pink also features in the door panels, the dashboard fascia and the mat edges. In a flawless colour combination, black leather with Powder Pink stitching elegantly covers the steering wheel and gear knob. Even more exclusive detailing comes in the front Alcantara headrests customised with the "ELLE" logo and the GLAM Powder Pink key cover with "ELLE" logo.

Moreover, Lancia, Alcantara and the Milan Polytechnic collaborated to create an exclusive collection of Alcantara jewellery dedicated to the Ypsilon "ELLE", designed by two young designers who teach the Fashion Design degree course.

At this point, it is clear that the team at the Centro Stile Lancia has paid particular attention both to the use of fine materials and refined colour combinations of the Ypsilon "ELLE". After all, colour has never been simply a matter of aesthetics for the Ypsilon. On the contrary, it is an integral part of a product philosophy based on elegance, glamour, personality, play, creativity, style and the widest array of customisation options.

The Ypsilon "ELLE" is available with the 69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II, the 69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II LPG, the 85 HP 0.9 TwinAir in combination with manual or robotised gearbox, the 95 HP 1.3 turbodiesel MultiJet II and the 80 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir methane engine options. Standard equipment includes automatic climate control, electric door mirrors, ESC, CD MP3 radio, Blue&Me system with steering wheel controls and leather trim for the steering wheel and gear knob.

Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino ‘14

The most affordable version, which reaches out to a young, dynamic clientele used to new innovations and that loves to be amazed, was launched in April. The Ypsilon Elefantino immediately captured the attention of the youngest customers and further increased its success amongst the "under thirty" public

The Ypsilon Elefantino '14 comes in three different styles - 'Lime', 'Watermelon' and 'Coconut' - which expand the customisation options again with an eye to the model's young, glamorous and accessible placement. The new version is characterised by door handles in matching body colour, the 'Lime' yellow, 'Watermelon' red or 'Coconut' white 'Elefantino' logo on the tailgate and the 'Y' logo on the hub caps and on the side pillar in the same colour. The grille, mirror fairings and hub caps can be either glossy black or matt grey according to the preferred colour combination.

Personality and refinement are also to be found inside the Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino '14, where the brand-new Urban Chic interior graphics and specific seats offered through a combination of grey, white and black stand out.  The colour of the stitching and of the 'Y' logo on the seats match the exterior accents. The dashboard and door panel fascias can be painted glossy black or matt grey too, depending on the choice of colour of the exterior details.

The Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino '14 offers no fewer than six customisation packs in tune with the most recent fashion trends, two for each version. The 'Camouflage' pack (which includes 'Lime' 'Y' logo and 'Camouflage' graphics on the side pillar and hub caps) and the 'Lime Colour Touch' pack (featuring 'Lime' yellow painted mirror fairings and hub caps) are available for the 'Lime' version, while the 'Animalier' ('Watermelon' red 'Y' logo and 'Animalier' animation on side pillar and hub cap) and the 'Watermelon Colour Touch' pack (with mirror fairing and hub cap painted red) are available for the 'Watermelon'. Finally, the 'Pois' pack (white 'Y' logo and 'Pois' animation on the side pillar and hub caps) and the 'Coconut Colour Touch' pack (which includes white mirror fairings and hub caps) can be picked for 'Coconut'.

A lucky charm, the elephant is an endearing symbol of loyalty and has been inextricably linked to the brand for many decades. In fact, in 1953 it was precisely Gianni Lancia, son of the company founder Vincenzo, who chose this animal as the badge of the emerging Lancia racing team engaged in competitive sports.

The Elefantino brand made a comeback in 2013 on the new 5-door Lancia Ypsilon with the same goal: to make a model known for its innovative look and unique personality appealing to a younger clientele. The Elefantino 2014 collection expands its customisation options with an increasing focus on the choices available to its highly discerning clientele.

In addition to the new Carrara Grey, Khaki Grey and Zaffiro Blue, customers can choose to 'dress' their Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino '14 in sophisticated hues of Neve White, Vulcano Black, Argilla Red, Turquoise, Pietra Grey, Argento Grey or Aurora Purple.

The engine range includes a 69 HP 1.2 petrol, a 85 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir with manual or robotised gearbox, a 95 HP 1.3 MultiJet turbo diesel, a 69 HP 1.2 LPG bi-fuel and a 80 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir Methane bi-fuel. The latter in particular is the first methane-powered turbocharged 'twin-cylinder' on the market that ensures reduced CO2 (86 g/km) emission levels and low consumption (3.1 kg/100 km in the combined type-approval cycle) when running on methane.

Named 'Best Green Engine of the Year 2013', the power unit combines the innovation of MultiAir, turbo architecture, TwinAir downsizing and specific technology for methane fuel supply. TwinAir Turbo technology secures all the environmental advantages of methane with no need to compromise on driving satisfaction or power.

Compared to the petrol version, the 'two-cylinder' TwinAir bi-fuel features several fuel-specific components, including the intake manifold, injectors, electronic engine management system and low-wear material valve seats with special geometry. The perfect integration of all components and state-of-the-art technology - such as the MultiAir system and the turbocharger - guarantee maximum reliability and ensure that performance and handling remain the same also when running on methane.

Lancia Ypsilon MOMODESIGN

The MOMODESIGN version further enriches its offer for a clientele looking for a car with a dynamic set-up and strong character.

Launched in 2013, the Ypsilon MOMODESIGN was born from the renewed collaboration between two Italian brands renowned the world over for their contribution to the evolution of design.

This is further demonstrated in the exclusive items of clothing and accessories designed and manufactured by the Centro Stile MOMODESIGN: ranging from helmets, watches, eyewear and shoes to luggage. All of these products are unique in the fashion sector, just like the Lancia Ypsilon is unique, a model with a strong personality interpreted by the Centro Stile MOMODESIGN with its Hi-Tech, modern features appreciated by a younger audience.

A statement of top Italian style, the Ypsilon MOMODESIGN plays with colour contrasts, emphasises the value of detail, offers elegant interiors and expresses an energetic and dynamic personality.

The model stands out on the outside with its aesthetic and chrome touches that reflect the motifs of products created by MOMODESIGN.  Customers can customise their own special series by choosing from among seven two-tone versions, all distinguished by Matt Black for the tailgate, roof and door mirrors that perfectly match the body painted in Neve White, Vulcano Black, Argilla Red, Pietra Grey, Zaffiro Blue or the new Khaki Grey and Carrara Grey. Completing the Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN's 'outfit' are the rear bumper with chrome inserts, body-coloured door handles, and the MOMODESIGN tone-on-tone graphics on the central door pillars and 15" alloy wheels painted glossy black (matt black 16" wheels available as an option).

The same sporty feel is found in its interiors, where the passenger compartment trimmed in dark colours blends perfectly with the black high-tech 'sail' fabric with grey stitching for door panels, dashboard and specific seats, with 'MOMODESIGN' graphics stamped with electric welding, and black leather that covers the steering wheel and gear lever gaiter. A touch of elegance is provided by burnished components that enhance the dashboard while the sporty look of the new car is confirmed by the yellow colour of the instrument panel graphics.

With its lines exuding strong personality and elegance, the Ypsilon MOMODESIGN can be equipped with the 69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II, 69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II LPG, 85 HP 0.9 TwinAir (teamed with mechanical or robotised sequential gearboxes) and 95 HP turbo diesel 1.3 MultiJet II engine versions. Each one has different qualities, but all are accompanied by gearboxes that at some stage are defined by their generosity and lively temperament, and also by their high performance levels and sophisticated technology. All the engines share the same exceptional reliability and respect for the environment.

Original styling and outstanding performance come as standard on the Lancia Ypsilon MOMODESIGN. The list of standard equipment is a long one too: manual climate control, leather-covered gearstick gaiter and steering wheel, radio with CD/MP3 player and heated rear window, and ESP complete with ASR and Hill Holder.
