The Fiat Professional Range's Got Talent Aplenty

For the new vehicle, Fiat Professional has chosen a name in tune with tradition that by making reference to an ancient coin evokes the concept of value and combines top-in-class loading capacity with extraordinary compactness and agility. This makes the Fiat Professional line-up even more competitive in terms of range and number of solutions. Orders will kick off in May.

Fiat Professional introduces Talento, the model that with its generous loading capacity is the ideal work mate for professionals in city streets and on major roads alike. Its features include great versatility and the ability to adapt to the most diverse needs of customers. Its name - Talento - evokes the innate qualities of the vehicle and the concept of value by making reference to the name of an ancient coin as in the best Fiat Professional tradition. The moniker has high symbolic value and suggests what the vehicle can do, its abilities and - in short - its talent. All its features are crucial for taking on the new challenges of the future.

From the style standpoint, the new Talento is compact and well-proportioned: the forward stretching windscreen pleasantly connects to the short bonnet and the overall effect is one of an imposing but dynamic front end. The design is horizontal with bold, clear-cut lines in tune with the new family feeling of the Fiat Professional range and enhances the width of the vehicle and its loading capacity, clearly suggested by the square-shaped rear end, while conveying an idea of dynamism and stability. The new model is equipped with reliable, powerful and cost-effective turbo and twin turbo diesel engines delivering powers up to 145 HP.
The new Talento line-up is the link between Doblò Cargo and Ducato, and allows Fiat Professional to cover new volumes and loading lengths and provide comprehensive, satisfactory answers to all professional transportation needs.

The result is a functional vehicle that maximises the value of work, time and money by focusing on real customer needs with a full range of versions featuring vans, people-carriers, crew cabs and flat beds.
Talento - with its transparent, complete line-up - and Fiat Professional - with its comprehensive ranges and organisation dedicated to professionals - have all the answers for customers seeking ever more specific solutions.

FCA at Milan AutoClassica 2016

The 2016 edition of the Milano AutoClassica classic car show will be held at Fiera Milano Rho from 18 to 20 March. Among the participants are FCA with its Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Fiat brands, which will be displaying a number of precious historic models alongside the latest new releases in Hall 12.

The doors have opened on the prestigious Milano AutoClassica classic car show, where the Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Fiat brands take centre stage.

Alfa Romeo's collection focuses on its sports saloons, a concept that the Italian brand itself invented and which has now been updated and upgraded with the new Giulia. Visitors to the Milan show can see four precious models from the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, named "La macchina del tempo": the 1900 (1950), the Giulia TI Super (1963), the Alfetta (1972) and the 75 Turbo Evoluzione IMSA (1988). Alongside these rarities is an extraordinary Giulia Quadrifoglio, the quintessence of the new Alfa Romeo style and the ultimate expression of "meccanica delle emozioni".

All eyes are also on the Abarth brand, which will showcase two 124 models: a historic 1975 road version and the fascinating new spider-making its debut in Italy following its recent unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show-which is destined to become an icon of driving pleasure. Designed to satisfy even the most difficult-to-please drivers and available to order throughout Europe at the price of 40,000 euros, the brand-new Abarth 124 spider is a new myth in the making thanks to its performance and characteristic feel. It offers rear-wheel drive, sophisticated suspension and a four-cylinder 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine with 170 HP, paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic Sequenziale Sportivo gearbox with steering-wheel paddle shifters. The fusion between historic heritage and the hunger for continuous technical progress is part of the Scorpion brand's DNA, as also demonstrated by the cars showcased, and by the ambitious Abarth Classiche initiative. This project, first launched last November at the Officine Abarth in Mirafiori in Turin, is organised on various levels, from the restoration atelier to the Abarth Register which coordinates shows, events, rallies and competitions.
As expected, the programme has been a great success, with numerous certifications already carried out and a long waiting list of bookings. The coherence between current models and those which set so many motoring records is one of the secrets of the brand's commercial success. More information is available on the new website: http://www.abarthclassiche.com.
As for digital resources, "The Scorpionship", the only Abarth official community dedicated to owners, collectors, Abarth club members and fans, opens on 1 March. Anyone can register by filling in the form on the http://scorpionship.abarth.com website.
"The Scorpionship" members will have access to plenty of exciting advantages, promotions and racing opportunities as well as exclusive invites to meetings for fans.

Returning to the Milan show, the FCA line-up is completed by the new Fiat 124 Spider, which revives the storied nameplate, bringing its classic styling and performance to a new generation. Paying homage to its namesake, the original 124 Spider that was launched nearly 50 years ago, the new Fiat 124 Spider encompasses the classic beauty of its predecessor in a new perspective, without betraying its very essence. The new Fiat Spider is equipped with the reliable 1.4-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with MultiAir technology, which delivers 140 HP and 240 Nm of torque, and is available with a six-speed manual transmission.
Finally, in the outdoor area of the Milan show, visitors will be able to take a close look at the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and the Abarth 695 Biposto, which they can also test drive in addition to the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta and the multi award-winning Alfa Romeo 4C.

Below is a description of the historic models in the Alfa Romeo collection exhibited at the event.

1900 (1950)
The sports saloon concept originated back in 1950 with the 1900. Alfa Romeo's first car built entirely on a production line, it was also the first to be designed according to industrial criteria, including the monocoque, and the first with a four-cylinder engine developed for mass production.
The most significant features of the 1900 are its dynamic performance characteristics. Speed, road holding, handling and active safety made this model the first high-performance three-box saloon, features that had previously been reserved for true sports cars (in the bodywork configuration) and higher segment models. Pure sports performance in a family car was an innovative proposal at that time, in a market that was heading towards major expansion. The 1900 collected numerous racing victories, including a coveted first place in its category at the Mexican Carrera Panamericana in 1954, hence the car's famous advertising tag line: "The family saloon that wins races". In the mid-1950s, it became the first "Panther" Flying Squad car of the Italian State Police, which was modernising its fleet with high-performance vehicles to lead the fight against crime. In fact, all subsequent Alfa Romeo saloons were used as police cars.
The 1900's four-cylinder, twin-cam engine was continually upgraded, reaching 115 HP with a top speed of 180 km/h, which was unprecedented for a family car.
The 1900 was retired from production in 1959 after 17,390 units had rolled off the assembly line at the company's plant in Portello.

Giulia TI Super (1963)
The revolutionary and groundbreaking Giulia saloon debuted in 1962. The advertising claim "designed by the wind" was inspired by the Giulia's outstanding drag coefficient of 0.34, which would still be competitive on today's market. This sports saloon became the backbone of Alfa Romeo's line-up, as well as a production link between the company's Portello and Arese plants.
The Giulia was the first mass-produced car with a five-speed transmission and one of the first with a differentiated body structure: in the event of a collision, the passenger compartment held its shape, ensuring greater passenger safety. The Giulia's 1600 four-cylinder engine differed from the Millenove in terms of displacement and construction materials. It had a crankcase made of aluminium rather than cast iron, was essentially derived from the Giulia "milletrè" (launched in 1954) and was an extremely sophisticated and high-performance engine with long durability. The exceptional dynamics and design features of the Giulia, in its various guises, garnered incredible results in races. The Giulia TI Super, launched in 1963 (112 HP and 190 km/h), is the rarest and most prestigious Giulia variant. Only 501 of this ready-to-race version were produced, almost all of them in Biancospino White, with the Quadrifoglio cloverleaf emblem on the side panels and boot and with the bodywork streamlined to further improve its already excellent performance. The TI Super nurtured a generation of racing drivers who eventually graduated to higher formulas, having put themselves in the spotlight with victories and rankings achieved behind the wheel of the Alfa Romeo saloon. The Giulia TI Super is particularly suited to road races, as it proved by memorably winning its category in the 1963 Tour de France Auto, one of its greatest successes. Over a million units had been built by the time the Giulia series reached the end of its long production run.

Alfetta (1972)
Alfa Romeo's prestigious sports saloon, the Alfetta, made its international debut in May 1972 in Trieste, presented by five-time F1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio. The all-new car was a cross between the 1750 and 2000, both of which were based on the Giulia and would be gradually replaced by the new arrival. The Alfetta was technically state of the art, a further evolutionary step in the interpretation of the sports saloon concept, which had originated twenty years earlier with the 1900. At the time of its launch, the Alfetta was the most sophisticated mass-produced saloon on the market. It had a longitudinal front engine (1779 cc, 122 HP, 180 km/h), a rear-mounted transaxle transmission and clutch system plus De Dion rear suspension, a technical solution derived from the 159 Formula 1 Alfetta, which incorporated a De Dion axle and was driven to victory in the 1951 World Championship by Juan Manuel Fangio.
The launch campaign played up this historical pedigree with images depicting the Alfetta saloon in front of its namesake F1 predecessor. The Alfetta was a success right from the first few months of its long production run (which lasted until 1984 in various versions and displacements), occupying a 40% segment of the market. In the 1980s, the Alfetta was the first car to adopt variable valve timing, a key technology internationally patented by Alfa Romeo and which is still included in engine designs. In addition to its undeniable dynamic qualities, the Alfetta provided comfort, liveability and a modern upgrade of the high-performance saloon concept. In total, 476,000 Alfetta vehicles were built before the model was taken out of production in 1984.

Alfa 75 Turbo Evoluzione IMSA (1988)
In 1985, Alfa Romeo marked its 75th anniversary by unveiling the Alpha 75: a compact sports saloon that replaced the New Giulietta (1977-1984) and expanded the range of powerplants to include a 2.5-litre V6 engine, which was subsequently further enlarged to 3 litres. The 75 shared its bodywork and many mechanical components with the New Giulietta, which in turn was based on the Alfetta. The result was a successful carryover with a very personal and distinctive design incorporating two major innovations: the 2-litre Twin Spark engine (1962 cc, 148 HP, 205 km/h) and the debut of a turbo production engine (1779 cc, 155 HP, 215 km/h), the first to adopt an advanced electric supercharging control system. In 1988 an Evoluzione version of the 75 Turbo was developed according to IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) specifications and subsequently won two editions of the Giro Automobilistico d'Italia, in 1988 and 1989. In this configuration, the 75 reached a power of 335 HP in 1988 and 400 HP the following year. It was also distinguished by a wide-track body and refined aerodynamics, with a striking rear spoiler in carbon fibre.
Retired from production in 1992 after selling 387,000 units-including in the United States, where it was proudly renamed the Milano-the 75 was the last car in the outstanding and long-lived Alfetta series.

The 2016 Easter Jeep Safari concept vehicles include:

Jeep Crew Chief 715
The Jeep Crew Chief 715 concept vehicle was built as a salute to legendary Jeep military service vehicles, in particular the Kaiser M715. This open-air Wrangler Unlimited-based concept vehicle showcases a burly design with heritage styling cues. The Crew Chief 715 utilizes modern-day construction with a rear seat and extra doors for additional passenger capacity while staying close to its classic military roots.
Original Jeep military service vehicles were legendary for getting troops through rugged terrain, and the Jeep Crew Chief 715 illustrates this legacy.  Steel front and rear bumpers, 20-inch beadlock wheels, and 40-inch NDT military tires pay homage to the original Jeep military vehicles. The Crew Chief 715 utilizes an on-board air system with a hard-mounted quick-disconnect fitting for airing up or lending assistance to other vehicles on the trail. Other features include a master cylinder brake upgrade, cold air intake and a modified exhaust.
Exterior features such as Jeep Performance Parts off-road rock rails, a winch mounted into the front and rear bumpers, Dana 60 front and rear axles and a 4-inch lift kit with Jeep Performance Parts/Fox 2.0 Remote Reservoir shocks give the Crew Chief 715 increased capability. The "Tactical Green" color scheme runs from the custom modified M715-inspired front-end to the tailgate. The Crew Chief 715 features a military themed 5-foot cargo bed.
Inside, the no-nonsense interior features leather bucket seats with canvas inserts, aircraft-inspired control switches and Mopar all-weather mats. The media center features a centrally located navigational compass.
The Jeep Crew Chief 715 is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Shortcut
A carefully crafted take on the beloved Jeep CJ-5, this Wrangler-based concept vehicle invokes the spirit of 1950s Americana with a shortened body and functional simplicity.
Exterior styling cues include a unique grille, hood, tailgate, front and rear wheel flares and custom chrome front and rear bumpers. A modified exhaust, 17-inch red steel wheels and 35-inch BF-Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires help the Jeep Shortcut maintain the look of an icon.
Jeep Performance Parts featured on the Shortcut include a front and rear Dana 44 axle and a 2-inch lift with Fox shocks. Overall body length has been reduced by more than 12 inches to keep the Shortcut concept vehicle light and maneuverable on the trails.
Inside, the simple yet functional interior features low-back leather bucket seats with plaid inserts, a red ball shifter handle, four-point safety cage and Mopar all-weather mats.
The Jeep Shortcut is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Renegade Commander
The Jeep Renegade Commander concept vehicle is equipped with an assortment of Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts for the ultimate off-road adventure. A 2-inch lift kit and 17-inch Rubicon aluminum wheels with 29.5-inch BF-Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires increase the off-road capabilities of the Jeep Renegade Commander.
The "Fluorescent Gray" exterior features Renegade's MySky open-air roof with removable panels, custom body decal, Mopar off-road rock rails, skid plates and a modified exhaust.  Also featured are the Mopar brand's trailer hitch receiver and front and rear auxiliary lights.
Inside, the Renegade Commander includes Katzkin seat covers, body color bezel accents, a pedal kit, Mopar off-road kit and Mopar all-weather floor mats.
The Jeep Renegade Commander is powered by the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with MultiAir2 mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with Jeep Active Drive Low.

Jeep Comanche
Based on the Jeep Renegade, the Jeep Comanche concept vehicle is designed to be off-road ready with practical utility. A nod to Jeep pickup trucks of years past, the Comanche concept takes styling cues from military and civilian Jeep heritage.
The Comanche's "Beige Against the Machine" concept exterior paint is accented with a Satin Black hood, a concept lower front fascia, winch, steel rear bumper, soft top, and spare tire in the bed. The wheelbase has been stretched an additional six inches versus a production Renegade to accommodate Comanche's 5-foot bed.
Inside, the Comanche features custom seat covers, pedal covers, door sill guards, and Mopar all-weather mats. Jeep Performance Parts like off-road rock rails, a 2-inch lift kit and a winch bolster the Comanche's off-road capability. The Comanche rolls on 16-inch painted wheels and 32-inch BF-Goodrich All Terrain T/A tires.
The Jeep Comanche is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel I-4 engine and mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with Jeep Active Drive Lock, which includes low range and a locking rear differential.

Jeep FC 150
A true American workhorse, this 1960 Jeep FC 150 concept vehicle is rich with heritage and built to tackle both challenging rocky trails and the harshness of a western cattle ranch. Originally built from 1956 to 1965, the FC 150 is based on the CJ-5 and offered a clever packaging solution by keeping overall length to a minimum for maneuverability, but maintained a full-length cargo box for utility.
This heritage Jeep vehicle continues to utilize its original steel body that proudly bears battle scars while components underneath have been revamped. The FC 150's off-road prowess has been enhanced courtesy of a 2005 Jeep Wrangler chassis modified to accept a Dana 44 front axle, Dana 60 rear axle and 17-inch white steel wheels wrapped in 33-inch BF-Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires.
Inside, the FC 150 features vinyl seat covers, a custom headliner wrapped in a vintage duck hunting pattern, CB radio, analog compass and Mopar all-weather mats.
The Jeep FC 150 heritage vehicle is powered by a 4.0-liter PowerTech I-6 and is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Trailcat
The Jeep Trailcat concept vehicle is the ultimate off-road machine, equally at home on Moab's rugged trails or a high-speed section. Utilizing the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine, and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with a custom shifter ball featuring an embossed Hellcat logo, the Trailcat concept vehicle leaves everything else in a cloud of dust.
To get the 707-horsepower Hellcat engine into the Trailcat, designers stretched the wheelbase an additional 12 inches while chopping the windshield two inches for a sleeker look. Mopar exterior enhancements include a power dome vented hood, Satin Black grille, LED headlamp and fog lamps and rock rails.
The robust off-road look is further aided by steel front and rear bumpers, 17-inch beadlock wheels and 39.5-inch BF-Goodrich Krawler T/A KX tires, front and rear Dana 60 axles and Fox shocks.
Subtle design cues, such as a Hellcat decal on the front quarter panels and a "Trailcat" decal on the side of the hood, hint at the horsepower that lurks beneath, making this much more than a typical production Wrangler. The Trailcat's interior is simple yet functional and features sport bucket seats from the Dodge Viper, made from carbon fiber and featuring Katzkin leather seat covers with accent stitching.

Jeep Trailstorm
The Trailstorm concept vehicle is the ultimate Jeep Wrangler for exploring off the beaten path. Offering  room for extra gear and fuel tanks, it is based on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, and delivers elevated capability to conquer trails with ease.
Off-road capabilities are enhanced with several Jeep Performance Parts, including 17-inch concept off-road wheels wrapped in 37-inch tires, a 2-inch lift kit with Jeep Performance Parts/Fox shocks, a Jeep Performance Parts Rubicon winch, and Dana 44 front and rear axles.  Half doors offer a clear view of obstacles ahead and a bedlined interior makes cleaning up after a day on the trails easy.
Mopar exterior enhancements include a winch guard, Satin Black grille, LED headlights and fog lights, high top fenders, power-dome vented hood, Mopar off-road rock rails with a step, Big Brake Kit, a concept fast-back soft top, tail light guards and a Mopar fuel filler door. Finishing the Trailstorm's exterior upgrades are a steel front and rear Rubicon bumper and a Jeep Performance Parts tire carrier. The Trailstorm is wrapped in camouflage allowing it to blend into its surroundings in the Utah desert.
The Trailstorm's bedlined interior also features Katzkin seat covers and Mopar all-weather floor mats. The Jeep Trailstorm is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Easter Jeep Safari
Easter Jeep Safari consists of trail rides, mostly day long trips, departing from Moab, Utah, throughout the nine-day-long event. The Jeep Safari was started in 1967 by the Moab Chamber of Commerce as a one-day trail ride. Over the years, as participation grew, the Safari expanded until it finally reached the current nine-day event. "Big Saturday" still remains the culmination of the event on the Saturday of Easter weekend.

For the second time running, the Alfa Romeo brand will be attending the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance with vintage cars and models currently in production, to symbolise that unbreakable bond between past and present which distinguishes its legendary history spanning more than one hundred years.
The star of the American event is set to be the Formula 1 BT45, which belongs to the renovated Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, also known as "The time machine", along with some of the latest models, including the multi award-winning Alfa Romeo 4C (Coupé and Spider versions) and the Giulia Quadrifoglio, the perfect blend of the new Alfa Romeo paradigm and supreme expression of the "meccanica delle emozioni" (mechanics of emotion) concept. Among other things, visitors will get the chance to enjoy a thrilling driving experience behind the wheel of the 4C Spider, and also to purchase Alfa Romeo memorabilia.

The Brabham BT45, equipped with an Alfa Romeo engine, will be the main piece of the "Hans Stuck cars" category with which the US event pays homage to the German driver in this particular edition of the event. Indeed, it is on a Brabham-Alfa Romeo that Hans-Joachim raced in the 1977 United States Grand Prix before more than 100,000 spectators: held at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Race Course, Stuck started the race at the front of the grid, and was overtaken only by the reigning champion, James Hunt. After 14 laps, the BT45 retired due to a technical problem, without tarnishing the German driver's impeccable racing up to that point, who proved himself to be a genuine master at driving in the rain.

The enchanting story of this race car began in 1976, after the World Sportscar Championship won by the "33 TT 12" in 1975, when Autodelta - Alfa Romeo's racing department - decided to join Formula One by supplying the Brabham team with the 500 HP 12-cylinder boxer on the "33" itself. In actual fact, Alfa Romeo had already fitted an engine on a single seater March in 1971, but the experience had immediately been stopped. The year 1976 thus became a "good" year: the car referred to as the "Brabham-Alfa" was presented, retaining the "Martini Racing" livery, but the basic colour, by virtue of the Italian maker's engines, switched from white to red.

The entire operation was orchestrated by the engineer Carlo Chiti, founder of Autodelta, and by Bernie Ecclestone, who owned the Brabham team at the time. The talented Gordon Murray designed the car, built around the overall dimensions of Alfa Romeo's "flat" engine and distinguished by two side periscopes to feed the twelve cylinders. In 1976, the official drivers of the Brabham "BT45" were Carlos Reutemann (ARG) and rising star Carlos Pace (BRA), while Larry Perkins (AUS) and Rolf Stommelen (GER) only competed in some races. This initial season should be considered as "preparatory": the three fourth places achieved, two of which by Pace and one by Reutemann, are the most significant results.

The Brabham-Alfa "BT45-B", the evolution of the previous version for the 1977 season, started off in the best possible way: in the début Grand Prix, in Argentina, Carlos Pace came second, while his team-mate John Watson (GBR) held pole position for around ten laps. Pace demonstrated excellent performance in the Brazilian Grand Prix as well, on home turf, although he was forced to retire.

In March, the Brabham team was devastated by the loss of Carlos Pace in a plane crash. The team decided to recruit German driver Hans-Joachim Stuck, who during the season won two third places in Hockenheim (GER) and Zeltweg (AUSTRIA). In an interview, Stuck said he was excited about racing in a car fitted with an Alfa Romeo engine: these are the exact same cars against which his father had raced with Auto Union in the 1930s. In Monza, during the qualifying rounds of the Italian Grand Prix, the passenger compartment of the English single seater was occupied by Giorgio Francia, test pilot for the Milanese Car Maker. John Watson ended the season with second place at the French Grand Prix (Dijon) as best result.
The engine was fitted on English cars up until 1979 (with other architectures), with varying degrees of luck (2 Grand Prix won in '78) and with the experimentation of innovative technical solutions (such as the BT46 "fan-car" at the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix). At the end of the Seventies, the partnership between the Italian brand and the English carmaker came to an end: Alfa Romeo decided to produce its very own Formula One single seater, known as the "Alfa-Alfa".

================

  • The stamp of a vintage code to be applied to a very successful race car.
  • An exclusive model for racing only.
  • Eligible to compete in seven events of the Italian Tourism Championship and the 2016 Abarth Selenia Trophy.
  • Designed to race both in the new Aci Sport championship and in the 2016 Abarth Selenia Trophy.
  • The technical innovations of the car include.

For Abarth the letters O.T. stand for "Omologata Turismo", roughly translated as "Touring Car Homologated". Since 1965 these two letters have identified a successful series of race cars and sporty coupés which made a name for themselves on international race tracks and in hillclimbing events. The acronym was created by Karl Abarth to reassert the bond between the race cars and their standard production counterparts, from which most of the components were derived.

Today, the letters are making a comeback on the new Abarth 595 OT. The car was tuned by the Abarth Racing Team engineers to comply with the rules of the new Italian Touring Car Championship which will be kicking off on May 22 at the Monza racing circuit. The championship will comprose seven events in total: Monza will be followed by Misano Adriatico (June 12), Magione (July 3), Mugello (July 17), Vallelunga (September 4), Imola (September 25) and Adria (October 9).

Developed exclusively for racing, the Abarth 595 OT will be competing in the TCS (Turismo di Serie - Production Tourism) category fitting turbo engines up to 1,400cc in size, and  it will also be replacing the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse in the 2016 Abarth Selenia Trophy. However, the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse can be easily upgraded to 595 OT by fitting aerodynamic elements to comply with the Italian Tourism Championship rules. The exclusive service for converting a 500 Assetto Corse into a 595 OT is offered by Abarth at Racing Team workshops.

From a technical point of view, the new Abarth 595 OT is a highly competitive car featuring a new 1.4 T-Jet 190HP engine paired with a six-speed gearbox, a new ride and spacers installed for widening the front and rear tracks. A "Performance" kit, consisting of a racing exhaust and 305mm floating front brake discs to make the car even faster and more efficient, is also available. Orders are now open for both the car and the kit.

With the new Abarth 595 OT, the joy and excitement of wheel-to-wheel racing will remain accessible to another generation of enthusiasts . Abarth has already enabled hundreds of drivers to experience the thrill of racing in keeping with the philosophy expressed by founder Karl Abarth who wanted to offer a competitive car within the grasp of all enthusiasts -  the same spirit that has underpinned the Abarth Selenia Trophy, now in its eighth season.

The new Abarth 595 OT will be joining the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione which has been racing for the past three seasons. This year's calendar consists of seven races: Monza (May 1), Imola (May 29), Misano Adriatico (June 12), Magione (July 3), Red Bull Ring (Austria, July 24), Vallelunga (September 11) and Mugello (October 16).

  • The European winter Tour of the Jeep® brand ended on February 21 in Italy, after having stopped in Switzerland, France and Austria.
  • The entire Jeep lineup was showcased at each leg of the tour, together with a fleet of eleven test drive cars.
  • Over 2,600 people were involved and more than 12,000 kilometers were driven during the on- and off-road test drives.
  • The Italian events of the Jeep Winterproof tour ended at the end of February in Bormio (Sondrio area).

The 'Jeep ® Winterproof' tour has just ended after having stopped in some of the most renowned skiing resorts in Europe to celebrate the Jeep brand's distinctive spirit of adventure. The tour kicked off on January 13 in Gstaad (Switzerland) before stopping in Megève (France), Montafon (Austria) and Selva Val Gardena (Italy).

Snow and ice were the ideal conditions and perfect backdrop for putting the Jeep SUVs to the test. Not by chance, the Jeep brand has always enjoyed a strong relationship with the world of mountains. More than any other, the mountains are the location where the technique, reliability and safety of a 4x4 can guarantee the  confidence needed to take on the most demanding trails and the most extreme challenges.

During the four European legs of the tour, visitors were given the opportunity to live an authentic Jeep brand experience with thrilling test drives onboard the models of the most awarded SUV range ever: from the iconic Jeep Wrangler to the flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee, the most awarded SUV ever, from Jeep Cherokee, which blends the legendary Jeep 4x4 capabilities with a cutting-edge design, to Jeep Renegade, the compact SUV with the best off-road capabilities in its category. All these cars are capable of transforming an ordinary driving experience into an extraordinary journey, in all weather, all year round, as the freedom-loving attitude cannot be stopped.

The 'Jeep Winterproof' convoy traveled over 2,700 kilometers. Star of each leg was a fleet of eleven cars, including four Jeep Grand Cherokee, three Jeep Renegade, three Jeep Cherokee and one Jeep Wrangler, made available for test drives. Over 2,500 tests were organized covering over 12,000 kilometers and involving more than 2,600 people. More in detail, 1,056 kilometers were driven during the four-day event in Gstaad. The number gradually increased to 2,104 kilometers driven in Megève, 5,292 kilometers in Montafon and 3,874 kilometers in Selva Val Gardena.

The tour offered more than just test drives: several exclusive activities were organized during the 'Jeep Winterproof' events, including the 'famous' Renegade Skiing Experience. During each leg of the European tour, visitors could  test drive the compact SUV built in Italy on ice-covered tracks and put themselves to the test with the Jeep Ice Experience, a safe driving lesson held by professional drivers who taught them how to tackle extremely difficult surfaces. At the end of the test drive, guests were offered the chance to take part in the Jeep Skiing Experience: a winter 'wakeboarding' experience that allowed them to ski on a special, dedicated snow trail, while being towed by a Jeep Renegade.

A model customized by Mopar, the FCA reference brand for services, Customer Care, genuine spare parts and accessories, was showcased in each location. In Switzerland, for instance, a Grand Cherokee Summit sporting ski-rack, special mats and chrome mirror caps was on display during the event, while a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 2.8 CRD featuring chrome steel door sill plates, matte black grill and fuel cap and special rubber mats was on show in Austria.

The Italian tour was staged in parallel to the successful European 'Jeep Winterproof' tour. In Italy, the four weekends in Cervinia (Aosta), Roccaraso (Aquila), Livigno and Bormio (Sondrio) attracted a large crowd of visitors who put themselves to the test through exciting Jeep test drives. The Italian 'Jeep Winterproof' tour was just one of the activities staged by the Jeep brand in some of the country's most famous skiing resorts, in addition to ensuring constant visibility to the brand on the ski slopes and developing communication campaigns with winter settings.

FCA at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show

  • World-first reveal of the complete Tipo family, which adds the 5-door and Station Wagon to the 4-door sedan.
  • Also under the spotlight alongside its 1966 predecessor is the new 124 Spider, which went on pre-order two weeks ago in the major EMEA region markets.
  • New additions include the New 500S, the sportier version of the iconic Fiat city car.
  • Updates to the family car line-up are also revealed with the 500L and 500X models.
  • The Fiat Panda will share the stage with the exclusive "Kung Fu Panda" Show Car.
  • First glimpse of a Show Car specifically designed for leisure and based on the Fullback pick-up.
  • The stand represents the two functional and exciting worlds that characterise the Fiat brand.

Fiat has chosen Geneva as the stage on which to give the international press a first glimpse of the complete Tipo family, winner of the prestigious Autobest "Best Buy Car" award for 2016. The 4-door sedan will be joined by the all-new 5-door and Station Wagon versions.
Further novelties include the new 124 Spider, which is already on pre-order in the main markets of the EMEA region, and a Show Car based on the Fullback pick-up, which was designed for drivers who love spending their free time in a dynamic and cool way. The 500 family will be out in force with the New 500 in the new "S" trim level, the 500X SUV, which continues to surge in popularity and sales volume, and the 500L, which is the market leader in its segment. The cars have very diverse vocations and characters but share the same common matrix: the iconic 500. There is even room for the traditionally stylish and comfortable Panda, complete with a cameo from "Kung Fu Panda", a fun Show Car which will be auctioned to benefit Conservation International and preserve the habitat of the other Panda.

The most eagerly awaited moment of the year has arrived for Alfa Romeo: from  April 15th , it will be possible to order the new Giulia in all markets throughout the EMEA area.
In a world-wide preview, visitors to  the Geneva International Motor Show will have the opportunity to admire four versions of the new model, representing the extensive range available, made of  three trim levels (Giulia, Super and Quadrifoglio) and six new engines: 150 and 180 HP  2.2-litre diesel with six speed manual or 8 speed automatic transmission, 200 HP 2.0-litre 8 speed automatic transmission and  510 HP 2.9-litre V6 BiTurbo Petrol engine with 6 speed manual transmission.

Alfa Romeo Giulia
The new Giulia, with its distinctively Italian design, features an impeccable sense of proportion, simplicity and superior surface quality finish, enveloping and placing the driver at the centre.
Choosing rear-wheel drive is more than a simple tribute to the most authentic roots of the Alfa Romeo legend: it is also a technical solution which secures high performance, astounding fun and an exhilarating drive. A further particularity of the Giulia is the optimal weight distribution across the two axles, the sophisticated suspension system (Alfa Romeo patent) and the most direct steering in the market segment. In addition, the Alfa Romeo Giulia combines extraordinary engine performance and ample use of ultralight materials, like carbon fibre, aluminium, aluminium composite and plastic, to obtain the best weight-to-power ratio (less than 3 in the Quadrifoglio version).
In keeping with Alfa Romeo traditions, the new Giulia offers unique technical solutions that make it the benchmark for its segment. The more sophisticated features include the Integrated Brake System (IBS) to considerably reduce braking distance, and active suspension for exceptional comfort. Exclusive to the Quadrifoglio version, Torque Vectoring technology affords excellent torque distribution between the two wheels on the rear axle, and the Active Aero Splitter provides active high-speed downforce management.

Four versions are on display in Geneva: three Giulia Super versions with 180 HP 2.2-litre diesel or 200 HP 2.0-litre petrol engines and one Giulia Quadrifoglio with 510 HP 2.9-litre V6 BiTurbo Petrol engine. Specifically, the Giulia Super versions feature high quality leather interior with full-grain leather seats and dashboard, combined with a real wood interior trim, as well as 18" wheels,  8.8" Connect 3D Nav infotainment system and exclusive aluminium gearchange paddles fixed to the steering column.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio on display in Competition Red is available in a sporty configuration with 19" ultralight wheels, carbon ceramic brakes and Sparco seats with carbon fibre shell.

New Giulietta and New Mito
Alfa Romeo's news does not stop with the eagerly-awaited Giulia; indeed, the brand has undergone a whole makeover. The spotlights at the show will also be trained on the New Giulietta and New Mito, the two restyled models which present a notable family feeling with the enchanting Giulia, as can be seen in the new nose that features an unprecedented grille and the legendary trefoil nose, arguably one of the most famous and recognisable symbols in the automotive world. The lettering of the names "Giulietta" and "Mito" also nods to that of the "Giulia", with both cars sporting the refreshed Alfa Romeo brand logo.
The ranges of the two new models were conceived and optimised so customers can more simply and quickly pick the version most suited to their inclinations and needs and then customise it with optional equipment and accessories. The New Giulietta comes with a host of important innovations, such as the bolder sport characterisation, unprecedented 120 HP 1.6-litre JTDm turbo diesel engine, paired with the innovative Alfa TCT automatic transmission, and the extremely useful LIVE services on the Connect 6.5" system. On sale from early March across the main European markets, the New Giulietta is displayed in Geneva in two versions: the high-performance 240 HP Veloce 1750 Turbo petrol version and the 120 HP Super 1.6-litre JTDm versions, both with TCT automatic transmission. The exterior of the former is particularly eye-catching, thanks to the new sports bumpers with red inserts, polished anthracite finish, glass roof, Brembo braking system with red brake callipers and new 18" burnished alloy wheels. The same sporty imprint has been given to the interior, enhanced by sports seats in leather and Alcantara with red stitching and leather steering wheel. Alongside the Giulietta Veloce version, curious visitors will be able to get up close and personal with the Super version featuring tobacco leather seats, new inset dashboard with matt black brushed finish, 18" alloy wheels, chrome-plated exterior trim and a new exhaust pipe.
In a worldwide preview, the New Mito will be débuting in the Alfa Romeo stand, with a host of restyled features, while maintaining its position as small sport car capable of winning over customers attracted by its Italian style and technical excellence, for utter driving satisfaction. The Geneva International Motor Show will be centre stage for the sportier version in the range - the 170 HP Veloce 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo Petrol version and TCT automatic transmission - featuring new Sabelt sports seats with black fabric and Alcantara upholstery. The New Mito will be available across Italy and France from June, and thereafter in other countries.

4C Coupé and 4C Spider
The limelight will also be shared by the captivating Alfa Romeo 4C, in Coupé and Spider versions, a modern icon of the brand and representing the sports soul written into to the Alfa Romeo DNA: optimum performance and excellent engineering designed for ultimate pleasure to drive in breathtaking style.
Both cars are fitted with the powerful turbocharged all-aluminium direct injection engine with 1,750 cm3 with dual continuous variable valve timing guaranteeing performance levels comparable to those of a supercar: top speed of 258 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, 1.1 g lateral acceleration and 1.25 g maximum braking deceleration.
The supercar spirit is also obvious in the choice of ultralight materials used: carbon fibre for the shell, aluminium for the front and rear chassis framework and SMC (low-density compound) for the bodywork.
The Swiss catwalk will see the likes of a 4C Spider in metallic Stromboli Grey, featuring carbon fibre roll-bar cover as well as the new titanium central dual-mode exhaust system by Akrapovič. In addition, to add a splash of style and enhance light weight and performance levels, the car features burnished finish spoked wheels (18"at the front and 19" at the rear), as well as carbon fibre exterior components such as the air intakes on the side and front bumper and the door mirrors. Last but not least, the red brake callipers, the red leather sports seats and the leather interiors with carbon fibre trim complete the standard equipment of the convertible on show in Geneva.
The stand will also proudly present the multi award-winning 4C Coupé with a three-coat Trofeo White livery and featuring a roof and carbon fibre elements (such as the air intakes on the side and front bumper, door mirrors and rear spoiler), black brake callipers, titanium central dual-mode exhaust system by Akrapovič and differentiated 5-hole wheels (18" at the front and 19" at the rear) with burnished finish. Inside, the special sports seats in leather and black microfiber with contrasting red stitching will definitely be eye-catching, also in this case accompanied by leather door panels and dashboard as well as carbon fibre details.

Stand
Alfa Romeo comes back to the Geneva International Motor Show with a renovated display area featuring unprecedented construction details and a sophisticated game of lights that emphasise the major new product features. The Alfa Romeo stand therefore has a striking appearance, backed by the classic red LED backdrop on a black field, the brand's core styling strengths; traditional glass walls, expressing the high-quality concept inherent in Alfa Romeo's DNA; along with a sports-based texture for the floor, to emphasise the legendary performance of Alfa cars.
The new Giulia is to be the undisputed star of the show: the three Super versions are housed on a platform outlined by red LED lights and, thanks to an "augmented reality" station, visitors can find out more about the most innovative technological features of the high-performance Giulia Quadrifoglio. Set around the queen bee of the stand, the other models in the range fan out, namely the New Giulietta, the New Mito, the 4C Spider and the 4C Coupé. These extraordinary products confirm how, for over one century, Alfa Romeo cars have been dedicated to those who expect their car to transcend the concept of "useful means of transport" and cross over to that of "real emotions".
An area of the stand is dedicated to Mopar, the reference brand for services, Customer Care, original parts and accessories for FCA brands. Specifically, the new Alfa Romeo merchandise collection makes its début in Geneva, picking up on the restyled logo in its graphic components. The collection features a selection of items designed specifically with the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, first-class technical products made with high-performance materials such as carbon, aluminium or Nycroteh. Specifically, the collection comprises several lines: from clothing, the main garment being a modular jacket made in rainproof softshell fabric, to leather goods, including a Unisex overnight bag made with high-tech material and leather with brushed metal finish, and even the line of accessories with men's wallet and specific key rings. Last but not least, the display wall by Mopar features certain accessories dedicated to the Alfa Romeo 4C, Giulietta and Giulia models. In particular, the latter vehicle can sport a carbon and Alcantara steering wheel while the mirror caps and the heel pad are available in carbon.
Finally, thanks to the informative leaflets and the special elements placed on the stand, the audience will get a chance to become acquainted with the products of FCA Bank, the financial company specialising in the automotive sector. The company operates on the main European markets - in Switzerland through FCA Capital Suisse SA - with a sole mission: supporting the sales of all FCA brand vehicles through innovative financial products and high added value services dedicated to dealer networks, private clients and companies.

A range of exclusive accessories for Fiat, Jeep® and Alfa Romeo models
At the Motor Show in Geneva, the public will be able to admire a range of accessories fitted on Fiat 500X, Fiat 500L, Fiat 124 Spider, Jeep® Renegade and Alfa Romeo New Giulietta: just a small but significant sample of the many products, created for each model, which harmoniously blend with the technical and stylistic characteristics of the various cars, enabling them to be fully customised.
One of the two Fiat 124 Spiders exhibited at Geneva features exquisite details designed by Mopar which are reminiscent of the vintage 124 Spider: from the boot rack with satin effect to the premium silver wing mirrors, and brand new wheel rims based on a historical design. Mopar has also created a specific line of accessories for the 500X to make the new Fiat SUV even more distinctive. In Geneva, visitors can admire a Lounge model, with Gelato White livery, equipped with a practical working tablet holder which can be attached to the front seat. Instead, the stylish pedal and chrome heel pad give the interior a sporty feel.
The focus will also be on the Jeep® Renegade Trailhawk - the ultimate off-road vehicle - on which shiny black custom details, such as the sticker on the door, the front grille and the wing mirrors, stand out. Overall, the vehicle has an extreme off-road character, thanks to the large number of accessories available in specific packs, enabling motorists to opt for a truly complete customization.
Finally, on the Alfa Romeo stand, the public can admire an example of New Giulietta fitting carbon mirror caps and, on the wall, a selection of accessories specifically designed for the Alfa Romeo 4C, Giulietta and Giulia models. In particular, the latter vehicle can sport a carbon and Alcantara steering wheel while the mirror caps and the heel pad are available in carbon.

High quality products in the Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Abarth brand merchandising line
Visitors to the Geneva Motor Show can discover the new merchandising line dedicated both to the Fiat New 500 and the new 124 Spider, and to the Alfa Romeo and Abarth brands. The items featured have all been designed and manufactured for FCA brand enthusiasts, and form part of an exclusive collection that aims to be the expression and spokesperson of a lifestyle capable of captivating the whole world.
In particular, one of the stars of the show at the Fiat stand will be the line created for the 124 Spider, designed to meet the requirements of those who adore spending their free time as comfortably as possible, with more than a touch of elegance and originality. The driver will appreciate the two-tone leather gloves. In collaboration with the brand Italia Independent, exclusive his and hers glasses evoking details of the materials used in the vehicle or original graphics have also been created.
Again, in the Mopar Store, set up inside the Fiat stand, the brand new collection dedicated to the New 500, designed in collaboration with the Centro Stile will be on display. The collection, which meets the requirements of a young public always on the lookout for new ideas and exclusive concepts, spans from trendy objects, such as the sweatshirts with built-in earphones that allow the wearer to comfortably listen to their music, to more fashionable products for women, such as the bags in technical fabric, characterised by exclusive patterns and the "power bank" which is useful for recharging your smartphone everywhere.
Space will also be set aside for the new Alfa Romeo collection, which centres around the brand logo with its renewed graphic components. The exclusive line features a selection of accessories designed specifically with the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, first class technical products made with high-performance materials such as carbon, aluminium or Nycroteh. Designed with a demanding, dynamic customer in mind, the Alfa Romeo collection features various lines: from leather goods, such as the unisex briefcase made of technical fabric and leather with brushed metal finishes, to the accessories line, featuring men's wallets and specific key holders, and the clothing range, including a convertible jacket made of waterproof softshell with detachable windproof lining that can also be worn on its own.
Finally, at Geneva, the Abarth brand will present its new line of merchandising inspired by the iconic cases containing the transformation kits, which have always been a symbol of development and performance. The unpretentious collection, in pure Abarth style, is made of real pinewood and presents an Office line and one dedicated to Home&Design accessories. Additionally, the Mopar Store set up in the Abarth stand will also host various collections created in collaboration with prestigious brands, such as Breil and Kappa, and the collection dedicated to the 695 Biposto. A selection of items inspired by Abarth 124 Spider, all made with top-end materials and full of quality details typical of Italian design at its best, will also be shown in preview.

In particular, the last frontier in infotainment is presented in the form of the UconnectTM LIVE services, a set of functions available for use on three devices with 5", 6.5" and 7" touchscreens (the latter being a brand new concept as it features a 7" HD display with "tablet effect"). All three UconnectTM LIVE devices share common elements: hands-free system with Bluetooth technology, voice recognition and many music options, in addition to a FM/AM radio service. The driver can connect their multimedia devices via USB or using the 3.5mm auxiliary jack, or stream music from a compatible smartphone using Bluetooth. The system is also equipped with an SMS reader for reading text messages received on compatible telephones using 'text to speech' technology. Instead, on request, a digital radio (DAB) and built-in 3D TomTom navigation system can also be provided.
In the following months - exclusively for UconnectTM 7'' HD LIVE - "CarPlay and Android AutoTM will become available.
Specifically, Apple CarPlay allows the driver to use their iPhone more intuitively, by integrating it perfectly with the display and the car's native controls. Now users will be able to make calls, access their music, send and receive messages, get directions optimized for traffic conditions, and much more, while staying focused on the road.
Android Auto will give the driver useful information organised in simple sheets that only appear when necessary. This function gives access to: Google Maps with voice-guided navigation system, traffic information in real time, lane guidance; Google Play Music and many other music services; the ability to make and receive calls and send messages while you keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Android Auto and Google Play Music are registered trademarks of Google Inc.
The UconnectTM LIVE services - launched for the first time on the Fiat 500X in April 2015 - are outstanding. They enable the driver to view and monitor, via a touchscreen, a long series of applications that have been redesigned and readapted for use while driving, allowing them to remain concentrated on the road. Driver must download the UconnectTM LIVE app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store on their smartphone.
UconnectTM LIVE features three macro categories which contain the many applications available: "Infotainment", "Navigation" and "Saving&Efficiency". The first area provides direct access via touchscreen to TuneIn, the application that offers users access to over 100,000 internet radio stations all over the world; to Deezer, a web music service that offers access to more than 35 million tracks; to Reuters, in order to stay constantly updated on the latest news from around the world and to Facebook and Twitter, to remain constantly in touch with your friends. Finally, where present, it can also be used to access eco:Drive, the award-winning driving style app which enables users to slash fuel consumption by up to 16% and contributes to reducing CO2 emissions by providing driving tips in real time.
The "Navigation" category, available in the vehicles equipped with UconnectTM 5'' Radio Nav LIVE and UconnectTM 6.5'' Radio Nav LIVE, offers the TomTom LIVE services with voice commands, and high quality traffic information. Thanks to the experience of TomTom in connected navigation, which includes the largest source of traffic information in the world, with over 100 million kilometres of traffic measurements collected every day, travelling on board a Jeep Renegade is therefore more efficient and you can be sure to be better-informed. Every two minutes, the navigation system is updated with the most recent traffic conditions. With a highly developed processing system, Uconnect TM provides the fastest routes and the most accurate arrival time estimates. Besides real time information on traffic conditions, users are also provided with information on permanent and mobile Speed Trap positions where available, local TomTom Search&Go search services and real time weather forecasts.
Finally, through the "Saving&Efficiency" category it is possible to directly access my:Car and, thanks to real time warnings, receive reminders about maintenance procedures and gain access to an interactive user manual, all features that allow drivers to manage vehicle maintenance as efficiently as possible. When a smartphone is connected via Bluetooth, the most important warnings are automatically transferred onto the personal Uconnect TM LIVE account, to make maintenance easier than ever.

  • Abarth introduces 124 spider to the world
  • The new 2016 racing events calendar
  • The official Abarth community "The Scorpionship" opens
  • A Mopar area dedicated to Abarth kits, merchandise and accessories on the stand
  • Focus also on Abarth 695 Biposto Record and Abarth 595 Competizione

Abarth is making a comeback to the international stage at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show with great news: the debut of Abarth 124 spider. Heir of the roadster that drove Fiat to its first European Rally Championship win in the 1970s, it is a fun, unconventional car destined to become an icon of driving pleasure just like its predecessor. Being a typical Abarth, the new 124 spider is designed for thrills and performance and has all the qualities needed to satisfy even the most difficult-to-please drivers:R rear-wheel drive, sophisticated suspensions and a four-cylinder 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine with 170 HP under the bonnet available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic Sequenziale Sportivo gearbox with paddle shift. Its style and proportions also express dynamism at its best: streamline silhouette, stretched bonnet, two seats near the rear axle to really "feel" the road. The interior design also reflects the painstaking performance-oriented care for which cars sporting the Scorpion badge are famous while still being packed with safety and comfort equipment.

Abarth 695 Biposto Record
Next to the new Spider, visitors will also discover Abarth 695 Biposto Record, the version created to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of two acceleration records - the quarter mile and 500 metre records -  set by Carlo Abarth at the Monza Race Track in 1965. It features an exclusive "Modena Yellow" livery with "Tar Cold Grey" trim and an enamelled "695 Record" badge on the side. Under the bonnet it has a 1.4 T-jet engine, beefed up to 190 HP for genuine performance: it clocks a top speed of 230 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 in 5.9-seconds. This special series comes with many technical features directly taken from racing cars, such as titanium rear light rollbar, 18" alloy wheels, oversized Brembo braking system, Akrapovič exhaust, adjustable hydraulic dampers and mechanical self-locking differential.

Abarth 595 Competizione
Focus will also be on Abarth 595 Competizione, a model that springs from the experience acquired by Abarth engineers on the race track. It is powered by a 1.4 T-Jet 180 HP Euro 6 engine with Garrett turbo-charger and is available with a five-speed manual or an Abarth sequential robotised. Gearbox. The 225 km/h performance car is showcased on the stand sports a Full Black livery.

Racing
Races are a fundamental part of the Abarth DNA and the 2016 season will be very busy one for the brand. Events will include the Abarth Trophy, with Abarth 500 Assetto Corse and Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione as the stars of the show, and the Formula 4 championships in Italy and Germany. Furthermore, this year sees the introduction of the Abarth Cup Classics in which the vintage models will be competing for the first time. .

Digital
"The Scorpionship", the only Abarth official community dedicated to owners, collectors, Abarth club members and fans, opens on March 1. Everyone can sign up by filling in the specific form on the scorpionship.abarth.com website. The community will be initially operating in Italy, the UK, Germany, Switzerland and France and will be activated across Europe starting from May. "The Scorpionship" members will have access to plenty of exciting advantages, promotions and racing opportunities as well as exclusive invites to meetings for fans.

Stand
The details of the Abarth stand in Geneva are reminiscent of the Officine Abarth, made of iron girders, rough concrete and metal floor plates polished by car tyres. For the public, it will be like visiting the real workshop of a mechanic who is working with skilfully dedication on an engine. It is Carlo Abarth's heritage, one of hand-crafted care applied to constant technical progress and performance. Today, Officine Abarth is a place rich in history and is projected far, far into the future: it is the ideal setting for the launch of the new Abarth 124 spider.

  • The world première in Geneva for the prototype developed by the Abarth Racing Team.
  • Under the bonnet a powerful 1800 direct injection turbo engine delivering 300 HP.
  • Rear-wheel drive with self-locking differential for second to none performance.
  • Refined technical solutions to make the new Abarth protagonist of the rally.
  • Dedicated to all those who together with the brand share the racing world's values.

"Left 4 cut, 30 caution jump, right 5 left 3 close, 100, right 2 don't cut..."

This is the route to challenge yourself, to beat the laws of physics, to write a story made of courage and passion....

Along with the Abarth 124 spider, the first prototype of the 124 rally also has a surprise début. For the first time, the road car and the racing car have been developed and unveiled together.

The new Abarth 124 rally is a combination of pure technology and performance born from the experience of the Abarth Racing Team to bring back the Scorpion to the most glorious and demanding rally tracks, from the sticky sunburnt tarmac to the more slippery ice surfaces.
Forty years after its last official race, the 1976 Monte Carlo Rally, the Abarth 124 Rally is back with the same mission: to test road cars' technical solutions under extreme conditions and to guarantee all Abarth customers excellent performance and maximum reliability.
It is dedicated to all those who share the brand's sense of challenge and racing world values.

Under the bonnet, it fits the 1800 cm3 "bialbero" turbocharged direct injection engine. Thanks to the different selectable mappings, it provides power up to 300 HP at 6500 rpm and optimum torque curve, a key element to allow the driver steering and acceleration balance while oversteering. Performance is breath-taking; acceleration is scorching and marked with full, riveting sound. The project was developed to ensure reliability and performance, even in the extreme conditions typical of rallies: ice, dirt, dust, water, heat.
Even the transmission was designed to enhance performance: the engine is coupled to a quick 6-speed sequential gearbox with shift paddles and traction is assured by the mechanical limited slip differential.

Racing, for Abarth, is not only adrenaline, but also testing grounds to experiment with solutions that guarantee performance and excitement. To enhance the 124 rally's competitiveness, the Abarth Racing Team's engineers have worked with precise objectives: first of all, weight reduction and overall balance. For this reason, the engine is mounted behind the front axle; for the cockpit and the engine compartment, light, resistant materials were used, while the soft top was replaced by a fixed composite hard top. With these features, weight distribution leans slightly towards the rear axle, ensuring maximum traction even in low grip conditions. The centre of gravity was further lowered as compared to the road car to the advantage of road grip and straightforward performance.

The new Abarth 124 spider was born light and agile, and the rally edition was further refined to star in competitions. Homologation in the FIA R-GT category has required structural reinforcements to guarantee even greater stress resistance and the highest safety standards for the crew, and the body now has a safety roll cage. The whole design has been engineered for maximum efficiency and ergonomics, to ensure driver and co-driver not only superior performance, but also attention to every minute detail, such as the arrangement of interior controls and available space in the cockpit.

Rally cars undergo extreme stress; this is why the superb mechanical layout of the standard production car has been further developed: the high front-end double wishbone suspension and multi-link rear suspension have specific kinematic features with metal joints for maximum steering precision, ample control on corners, greater excursion for handling different road surfaces and adjustable dampers settings guarantee always superior grip in every situation.

In conclusion the project code, SE139, has a great deal of history that goes back directly to Karl Abarth. The SE stands for "Sports" and "Esperimental", a direct link to the Abarth values of craftsmanship and Technical Upgrade. While the 139 progressive number exemplifies that in 67 years of history, Abarth has managed to develop an average of two racing projects per year. A great accomplishment that only a few other car manufactures can be proud of.

A great team to bring back Abarth on the rally stage
Team Abarth has worked very hard to select best in class technical partners and sponsors.
Among these, Petronas Selenia that has always been at the forefront in developing technologically advanced and high performance lubricants and it has contributed in the engine development. While Adler Pelzer  Group was greatly involved in making crafting composite components for the car and Michelin is the technical partner for tires development.
The Abarth 124 rally project is also a great showcase for a number of Italian companies which have been involved in racing for many years. As is the case for Sabelt, one of the most well-known brand in motorsport, which contributes with its bucket-seats, seatbelts and other safety equipment, and also for Kappa, the leading sportswear brand worn by the entire "Abarth Squadra Corse". For what concerns the mechanics of the car, LM Gianetti, a company born some 40 years ago and witnessed the development of the first Abarth 124 Rally, has closely worked with Abarth's Technical Team to reengineer completely the bodywork and the suspensions scheme. Whilst, EXT SHOX has contributed with its specific know-how in the development of 4-way adjustable dampers used for the first time in a Rally car.
BMC has supported the team in developing the air-intake system of the car, which it is crucial to allow constant and reliable engine performance. The lightweight, but at the same time robust racing wheels,  have been developed and crafted by OZ, the legend in motorsport.
In conclusion, as for the road-going model, Alcantara® has completely revamped the interior of the car starting from the dashboard to the seats trimming, with 100% "Made in Italy" technology contributing to saving weight and reduce sun reflections towards the interior of the car, allowing no interferences for the driver enhancing the driver grip on the steering wheel.

The team has worked with great passion to revamp a rally icon as the Abarth 124 rally, a rear wheel drive transmission is synonym of great fun for the drivers, but also for the public. Surely, people will queue up to see pass by the new 124 Abarth rally and see it powerslide, which have become very rare today.
The new 124 rally developed with the best of technology available today, contributes to bring back sweet memories from the past of rallying in the 70's were competitions were more engaging and gathering massive crowds.
After the Geneva MotorShow unveiling, Abarth opens the pre-booking phase to prepare your début in the 2017 rally season.
